ΝΕΦΕΛΗ ΤΣΙΟΥΤΗ, MA, MSc, FHT

H Nεφέλη είναι Επιστημονική Συνεργάτης και φοιτήτρια Φυσικοθεραπείας στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Ήταν φιναλίστ στον επιστημονικό διαγωνισμό Famelab 2018 στην Κύπρο, με θέμα την πρόληψη τραυματισμών για χορευτές και πήρε 1ο βραβείο και Βραβείο πιο καινοτόμας ιδέας σε διαγωνισμό νεανικής επιχειρηματικότητας του EUC-Peak τον Ιούνιο 2018. Επίσης είναι φιναλίστ στα FHT Excellence Awards 2018 ως ‘Sports Therapist of the Year’.

Η Νεφέλη γεννήθηκε στην Αυστραλία και μεγάλωσε στη Λευκωσία. Ξεκίνησε χορό το 1995 στο Motion Art Studio με την Αυγή Παπακυριακού στη Λευκωσία και χόρευε επαγγελματικά με διάφορες ομάδες Hip-hop και Jazz στην Αθήνα από το 2005. Οι σπουδές της περιλαμβάνουν: Γαλλική Φιλολογία (Εθνικό Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών), ΜΑ Dance Choreography (Middlesex University, Λονδίνο), Δίπλωμα ‘Θεραπεία Αθλητικού Μασάζ’, MSc Dance Science (Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, Λονδίνο), στηριζόμενη από 3 υποτροφίες από το Trinity Laban. Έχει χορέψει σε περιοδείες με ομάδες σύγγρονου χορού και hip-hop/Breaking στην Αγγλία και Ευρώπη από το 2010 μέχρι 2016, όπως επίσης και σε σόλο χορογραφίες σε Ευρώπη και Καναδά. Έχει χορέψει σε παραστάσεις των: Pascal Merighi (πρώην χορευτή Pina Bausch) /Sebastien Ramirez (Sadler’s Wells), Jonzi D/Open Art Surgery/Breakin’ Convention (Sadler’s Wells),Folk Dance Remixed UK Τour 2015 & 2016 (Royal Opera House, Glasgow Commonwealth Games κ.ά.), Τελετή Έναρξης Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων 2012 κ.ά.
Μετά την πολύχρονη απουσία της από την Κύπρο, με την επιστροφή της τον Νοέμβριο του 2016 έχει δραστηριοποιηθεί στα καλλιτεχνικά του νησιού διδάσκοντας χορό σε σχολές της Λευκωσίας, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας, χορεύοντας καινούριες σόλο δουλειές στο Artists in progress & No Body festival του Dance House Lefkosia το 2017, αλλά και με το στήσιμο της νέας ομάδας της hip-hop χοροθεάτρου. Επίσης, το 2017 εξακολουθούσε να διδάσκει διεθνώς στον τομέα της εκπαίδευσης χορευτών σε θέματα πρόληψης τραυματισμών και ενδυνάμωσης στα: Centre National de la Danse (Παρίσι), University of Malta (Μάλτα), Sadler’s Wells/Breakin’ Convention Hiphop festival (Λονδίνο), One Dance UK Hip-hop Health Conference (Λονδίνο), Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance Symposium (Λονδίνο), IADMS Conference (Texas, USA & Φινλανδία), HDC Conference (Canada) και το 2018 στο Arizona State University (USA).

ΝΙΚΟΣ ΚΟΛΟΚΥΘΑΣ, MSc, ASCC, PhD Candidate:

Nico Kolokythas is an accredited coach from the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) and has over 10 years experience in adolescent strength and conditioning in elite performance in a variety of sports (Judo, Netball, Basketball, Football, Taekwondo, Tennis).  He was the Lead Strength and Conditioning coach for the West Midlands Regional Netball team (U17, U19) for 4 seasons and also coaching professional martial artists in Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts. Based at Elmhurst Ballet School, U.K. he is currently completing a PhD in ballet strength and conditioning focusing on the effect of supplementary training on injuries and performance, and also works as a consultant for Birmingham Royal Ballet. As part of his studies, he led randomised trials in injury prevention in dance. Nico also specialises in the rehabilitation of overuse injuries in adolescents who are training at different sports, at pre-professional level. Since, 2014, Nico has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton, in Science in Coaching, Motor Learning & Control and in the MSc in Dance Science.

Nefeli Tsiouti, MA, MSc, FHT – Νεφέλη Τσιούτη, MA, MSc, FHT

Nefeli is Associate Researcher and student of the BSc Physical Therapy at the European University Cyprus. She was a finalist at Famelab 2018, scientific competition in Cyprus, with prevention of injuries for dancers being her theme. She won 1st prize and Most Innovative idea prize at the EUC-Peak young entrepreneurship competition in June 2018. She is also a finalist at the FHT Excellence Awards 2018 as ‘Sports Therapist of the Year’.

Nefeli was born in Australia and grew up in Nicosia. She began ballet in 1995 at Motion Art Studio alongside Avgi Papakyriakou in Nicosia and she danced professionally with hip-hop and jazz groups in Athens since 2005. Her studies include: BA French literature (University of Athens), MA Dance Choreography (Middlesex University, London), Diploma Sports Massage Therapy, MSc Dance Science (Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, London), supported by 3 scholarships from Trinity Laban. She has performed in tours with contemporary dance and hip-hop/Breaking companies in the UK and Europe between 2010-2016, as well as solo pieces in Europe and Canada. After her long absence from Cyprus, upon her return to the island in November 2016 she has been active teaching dance in dance schools, at the University of Nicosia, performing new solo work at the Artists in Progress & No Body festival at the Dance House Nicosia in 2017, but she also set up her new company of hip-hop dance theatre. In addition, in 2017 she kept travelling internationally educating dancers regarding prevention of injuries and conditioning at:  Centre National de la Danse (Paris), University of Malta, Sadler’s Wells/Breakin’ Convention Hiphop festival (UK), One Dance UK Hip-hop Health Conference (UK), Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance Symposium (UK), IADMS Conference (Texas, USA & Finland), HDC Conference (Canada) and in 2018 at the Arizona State University (USA).

 

Anna Eleftheraki, MA, MSc – Άννα Ελευθεράκη, MA, MSc

Anna started studying classical ballet at the Local dance school of Veroia, Greece. She graduated with a Diploma of Teaching dance from the Vocational school of Larissa in Greece, where she participated in performances of the Ballet of Thessalia in various cities of Greece. She also graduated with a BA in English language & literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She completed with Honours her MA of Specialised Teaching in Academic Classical dance from the Academy Theatre of the Scala of Milano, with a scholarship (2013). She continued with the MSc Dance Science from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance in London, with another scholarship (2016), with her thesis on the theme of Turnout.

She has participated in seminars related to didactics and dance medicine. Specifically seminars at the National Music Academy of Sofia (Bulgaria), Florence & Milan (Italy), London (Inspire Seminars @The Royal Ballet School) and Athens (Greece) (Progressive Ballet technique). Since 2008, Anna has been teaching classical ballet and conditioning for dancers in private dance schools in Greece, Italy and Spain. She is a Member of the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science.

Stella Nisiotou, ΒΑ – Στέλλα Νησιώτου, BA

Pilates Instructor Stella Nisiotou Takoushi has been practicing Pilates for 15 years and has been teaching in the professional fitness and dance industry since 2005. She is a
fully trained and certified NVQ Level 3 Pilates instructor on all studio equipment and
matwork, a Pre/Postnatal Pilates Specialist, and has a dance degree from Rallou Manou
Prof. Dance Academy. She also participated in the Sports and Remedial Massage
course at the NLSSM.
She believes that by keeping a healthy and energetic body we are able to cope with our
complex lifestyles. Her dynamic program is based on the Pilates principles and her
attention to detail has helped a multitude of clients in various levels of fitness and
rehabilitation.
